If a player takes a self pass from a long corner, can the defenders go and tackle the player straight away? or do they have to allow them to travel 5m??
Think they have to travel 5m before you can tackle
they dont have to travel 5 metres, once the ball has been played and is therefore "in-play" you may go and tackle. This rule hasnt changed, as soon as the ball moves it is in play and you can engage the tackle, aslong as the defender is 5 metres away to start with. the ball only has to travel 5 metres before it can be played directly into the attacking D. Hope this helps
defender can move to tackle the attacker, but before he has to be 5meteres away from the attacker.
if a player plays the ball to himself the defending team as well as the opposition team has to be 5m away but once the ball is in play the defender can make the tackle
